Omotola Odeyemi  is a skilled and professional engineer with more than 15 years of extensive expertise in both the public and private sectors, focusing on Technology Policy and Government regulatory positions. She studied electrical and systems engineering in George Washington University. She gained her first degree, electrical electronics and communication engineering in Morgan State University.

According to her CV, she has held positions for both government and private sector, and she has over 15 years experience in strategic implement frameworks in public sector, technology projects and infrastructure financing.

Tola Odeyemi has worked as the West Africa head of government relations for one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. She has also headed the public policy for UBER in West Africa.

On Monday, October 16, 2023, the employees of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) closed down the service’s headquarters in Abuja. They were protesting the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as the Chief Executive Officer/Postmaster-General.

It was reported that President Bola Tinubu had made changes to the leadership of communication agencies, including NIPOST, as announced by Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.

However, there were reports immediately after Odeyemi’s appointment that Adeyemi Adepoju, who had been removed as Postmaster General, had been reinstated. In a video that went viral, Adepoju was seen addressing some workers who claimed Tinubu had reappointed him.

In an earlier statement by NIPOST on Friday, Adepoju claimed that President Bola Ahmed had reappointed him as the Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST. The statement from NIPOST cited Adepoju’s excellent leadership and performance during his previous term as the reason for his reinstatement.

However, on Monday, the protesting workers prevented the newly appointed NIPOST CEO from entering, expressing their discontent with her appointment. They believed that her appointment went against their wishes.
