Ugonna Onyenso Injury

Kentucky enjoyed a successful outing in Canada during its participation in the GLOBL JAM, securing a gold medal by triumphing in all four games. This experience was especially valuable given the substantial changes made to the team’s roster. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the team appeared to spend some time at Drake’s residence during the process.

However, not everything went smoothly for the Big Blue up in Canada. Their frontcourt depth, which was already a concern due to five-star freshman Aaron Bradshaw’s earlier foot surgery to address a fracture, faced another setback. Second-year player Ugonna Onyenso, who was showing significant progress, suffered a foot injury during the practice sessions leading up to the tournament.

During the weekend, UK coach John Calipari hinted that Onyenso’s injury, initially believed to be minor, might be more serious than initially anticipated, and he could be sidelined for an extended period.
