Justice Emmanuel Agim Biography
Emmanuel Akomaye Agim is a Nigerian judge who served as the Chief Justice of Gambia from 2009 to 2013 and also held the position of Chief Justice in Swaziland. He was born on April 26, 1960, in Obudu, Cross River State, Nigeria. He was previously a justice in the Nigerian Courts of Appeal and currently serves as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Justice Emmanuel Agim completed his first degree at the University of Calabar with an LLB (Hons), then attended the Nigerian Law School in Lagos to obtain his BL degree. He later pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom.

Justice Agim was officially certified as a legal practitioner on October 15, 1986.
Hon. Justice Agim has a diverse range of roles, including being a judge, public prosecutor, private lawyer, legal author, judicial instructor, and administrator of the Justice Ministry. He has experience in training state counsels, and he’s an expert in Commonwealth crimes victim issues. He has also managed law offices, worked as an adjunct professor, and served as an advisor and resource person on environmental laws.
He has been actively involved with the legal community and has shown excellence in his roles. For instance, he served as the Secretary of the NBA Ogoja branch from 1994 to 1996 and later became the Chairman of the Branch from 1996 to 1997.
Furthermore, he held the position of Chairman at the General Legal Council and has taken on various responsibilities and authored numerous legal publications.
