The comptroller’s job is to keep track of the money the customs service gets and spends.

Here’s how they do it:

Money Matters

The comptroller keeps a close eye on the money the customs service gets from things like taxes and fees. They also make sure the money is used the right way to pay for important things like customs officers’ salaries, equipment, and other expenses.

Following the Rules

Customs rules can be quite complicated. The comptroller makes sure the customs service follows these rules and laws. They need to ensure that the money is collected properly and that everything is done fairly.

Reports and Records

Comptrollers also keep records of all the money-related activities. They create reports and documents that show how the money is being handled. This helps everyone see what’s happening with the finances.

Helping to Plan

Comptrollers play a big role in making plans for the customs service’s budget. They work with other people in the customs service to decide how to spend the money wisely, like maybe buying new equipment or hiring more customs officers.
